I stumbled into starting a web 2.0 search company after many years in Internet security. It was a, 'why in the world isn't anyone doing this?' emotion that eventually culminated into 'I'm doing this if no one else is', and here I am.

I worked most recently at HP (it's not really their fault that they employed me - in '05 they bought Trustgenix - the company I was CEO of.) Trustgenix was a fun place; a Silicon Valley startup - small in size, big in ambition. We started on a then novel idea: Build single sign-on technology entirely on open protocol standards. Having built a sizeable business over 3 years, we eventually realized there were a few undeniable advantages of being acquired by HP. VeriSign was where I started my career in the US; pretty much right from its beginning to well into 2002 when I co-founded Trustgenix. Saw it all over there at VeriSign - the dot com boom and the bust. But, it was really cool to be able to build the Internet security infrastructure. As a side note, back then, before I joined VeriSign, I remember negotiating for higher salary instead of stock options - I didn't know what exactly stock options were!

I now live in lovely San Jose, CA with my wife and two kids. My wife and I immigrated to the US from India in '96. Not to stress another me-too cliché here, but I dropped out of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur before starting my career in Tech / Software.
